Aletheia

one two three
leaves
falling off my body
like trees like trees
I change
I falter.

I dance with the dead
what a delight
their shadows on the blank walls of my mind
enchant me
untouchable as yesterday.

I dance sunsets
as red skies melt and linger on my arms
like hot blood
and charms.

seven seas heaving inside
they carve my body into something new
a metamorphosis that gets me through
day by day.

each heartbeat:
a mantra of life
I am I am I am
throbbing and pulsing
red cells that harm.

one two three
it goes on and on - a fault
like everything else.

do not be fooled by the
papery feel of my heart or my dull
words that speak nothing of love
of art.

do not be fooled by my weakly disguise
from the dark ashes I rise
like a broken white moon of bone
I am
never defeated.
